Pilates Matwork /Pilates Reformer 1:1’s

Your pain-free movement is our passion!!!

Pilates is a form of exercise that focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and overall body awareness without building bulk. It was developed by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century and has since gained popularity worldwide.

Pilates is known for promoting a balanced and functional body, enhancing muscular control, and improving posture. It can be adapted to various fitness levels and is often recommended for rehabilitation, as well as for individuals looking to enhance their overall physical well-being by improving fitness, enhancing sport and preventing injury.

Client Reviews

“With the stress and strain of business, sport, and busy life in general, I look forward to my physiotherapy and Pilates sessions at New Wave Physio.”

“I usually exercise daily, but the concentrated effort of Pilates on the Reformer machine under professional supervision is beneficial to my fitness and strength, and the stretching exercises improve my general flexibility and well-being.”

“I always leave the sessions feeling that I’ve exercised, stretched, and twisted, and my body feels revived and ready for the challenges of life.”

“After back surgery left me in constant pain, with the debilitating fear that I would never exercise again, I slowly progressed from physio-led Pilates 1:1 sessions to regular Pilates classes at New Wave Studio. I now play competitive golf regularly and don’t have to think about my back; I just enjoy the game.”

Step 1:

TAKE CONTROL!

Don’t let fear or pain get in your way.

One of our clients was told by a fitness instructor (in a Pilates class at a gym) that Pilates wasn’t for her because of her physical limitations.

She overcame her fear (and the misleading advice), and with guidance from our physio, she started to use Pilates to mobilise and strengthen her body. She now enjoys weekly exercise sessions at New Wave and has improved her quality of life – she can get in and out of bed and do daily activities pain-free.

You, too, can overcome your limitations!

Testimonials

Gary C

“We believe that Pilates offers significant benefits for men who attend regularly. Unfortunately, many men are put off by the assumption that Pilates is for women. This couldn’t be further from the truth, and you can see the testimonials of some of the men who have benefited from our classes below.

“Having been one of the cynics as to whether Pilates would work for me, I can honestly say that I have been won over.

The sessions have helped alleviate my regular aches and pains, i.e., back, neck, and knee. While working to improve my core strength, the trainer is always mindful of my injuries and reminds me not to overdo certain exercises, in addition to recognizing which exercises are traditionally more difficult for different genders.

The difference in my flexibility between the first session and the last is nothing short of amazing.

I have no hesitation in recommending the classes to my former cynical friends.”

Rob F

“I’ve heard many men say that Pilates is for wimps!

As someone who has been doing it for 4 years, I would say, not if you’re doing it properly!!

If you want to build core muscle strength, increase your overall flexibility, reduce your stress levels, and improve your mental health, then give it a try!”
